In this post you will learn about
muzzle loader hunting for whitetail deer. You will also learn about some of the
items used when hunting with a muzzle loader. There are many things used while
hunting muzzle loader which is not used for when hunting with a rifle or
shotgun. The thing that makes the muzzle loader unique is that you load it from
the top of the barrel. Where in most guns you load it from the action which
where the bullet is held until fired. You also have to put the primer in
manually, where in a bullet the primer (which is the thing hit to set the
bullet off) is already on the back.
The gun is made by different companies, but the best is Thompson
Center. They sell muzzle loaders just about everywhere that sell guns. This is
a really fun way to hunt and it is also more challenging because you could mess
a lot easier to mess up. An example is not putting your primer on the gun which
makes it not fire, so then whatever you are shooting at will hear the click of
the hammer and be scared. You can also kill small game with a muzzleloader. According to the article "Small Game Muzzleloaders" M.D Johnson, claims you should use a .32 caliber muzzleloader for small game.
The stuff you need for muzzleloader hunting is powder, gun,
primer, bullet, and ramrod. The powder is the thing that thrusts the bullet out
of the barrel. The powder is set on fire by the primer (this is the little
spark that sets off the powder in the gun) which is set off by hammer. The
hammer strikes the primer when you pull the trigger. The gun is the main part
of it all because without it, it will not fire at all. The bullet goes on top
of the powder and is the projectile that hits your target. The ramrod is the
stick that rams all the stuff (powder and bullet in the barrel) down.

I did not know that powder is what thrusts the bullet out of the shell.... I guess I'm too much of a girl. This post is interesting and new to me. I've never been hunting before, but I would like to go. I could learn lots of new things that I'm sure you already know.
